Lacrimal gland prolapse

Lacrimal gland prolapse is the displacement of the lacrimal gland from its original position, moving downwards or forwards, primarily due to the relaxation of the lacrimal gland's supporting tissues and weakening of the orbital septum caused by various factors. It mainly involves the overall displacement of the main lacrand gland. It can be classified into primary and secondary types. It is relatively rare, often bilateral, and predominantly affects females under 25 years of age.
