Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy

Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) is a rare, bilateral, inherited eye disease and one of the severe pediatric vitreoretinopathies. It can be divided into five stages based on the progression of the disease: Stage I: Only peripheral avascular areas are present. Stage II: Retinal neovascularization appears, with or without exudative retinal detachment. Stage III: Subtotal retinal detachment not involving the macula appears. Stage IV: Subtotal retinal detachment involving the macula is present. Stage V: Total retinal detachment.
