Posterior uveitis

The uvea is located between the sclera and the retina of the eyeball, mainly including the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Because it contains pigment and has color, it is named "uvea" (grape-like membrane). Uveitis is an inflammation of the intraocular uvea caused by various factors such as infection, immunity, or injury. Posterior uveitis is a type of uveitis, where in addition to the uvea, the inflammation may also involve the retina, retinal blood vessels, and vitreous humor. The main symptoms are absence of eye pain, but with decreased vision and noticeable floaters.
