Ankylosing spondylitis-associated anterior uveitis refers to inflammation of the uvea in patients with ankylosing spondylitis, with anterior uveitis being the most common form.
This condition is one of the common types of uveitis in China, accounting for 5.6% to 6.12% of all uveitis cases. Approximately 20% to 30% of patients with ankylosing spondylitis develop anterior uveitis.
This condition is more prevalent in young adults aged 25 to 34, with a higher incidence in males than females. It typically affects both eyes, but usually not simultaneously.
