Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma

Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the eye tissues, and its incidence is relatively high. Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma grows slowly and generally does not metastasize. However, the tumor is prone to infiltrate the eye tissues, thereby destroying eye function, leading to decreased vision, and even loss of vision. It mostly occurs at the limbus in the palpebral fissure area, the junction of the eyelid skin and conjunctiva, or the lacrimal caruncle in the inner canthus, and is rarely seen in the non-exposed areas of the conjunctiva.
