Corneal dermoid

Corneal dermoid is a tumor-like congenital anomaly originating from embryonic skin. The mass is covered by epithelium and composed of fibrous and adipose tissue, which may also contain hair and hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and sweat glands. The lesion generally invades the superficial stroma of the cornea, occasionally reaching the full thickness of the cornea or even extending into the anterior chamber. The mass is often located in the inferotemporal bulbar conjunctiva and limbus, appearing as a round, pale yellow, solid mass with fine hairs on its surface.
