Sympathetic ophthalmia

Sympathetic ophthalmia is a type of uveitis, typically referring to a phenomenon where both eyes develop uveitis (including the uninjured eye) after a penetrating injury or surgery to one eye. The injured or surgically treated eye is called the exciting eye or inciting eye, and the uninjured eye is called the sympathizing eye. Sympathetic ophthalmia is the general term for this condition. The main symptoms include photophobia, tearing, pain, and blurred vision.
