Branch retinal artery occlusion

Branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO) is a type of retinal artery occlusion caused by small blood clots entering the eye through the bloodstream and occluding the small branch arteries of the retina. It is more common in older adults. The main symptoms are sudden vision loss or decreased vision. Some patients experience transient vision loss as a premonitory symptom before the onset of the disease.
