Primary glaucoma

Glaucoma is a general term for a group of diseases characterized by progressive optic nerve damage, ultimately leading to vision impairment, primarily associated with pathological elevation of intraocular pressure. Primary glaucoma is the most common type of glaucoma, accounting for approximately 86.7% of cases in China, and occurs in individuals over 18 years of age. Primary glaucoma can be divided into two types: angle-closure and open-angle. Among these, primary angle-closure glaucoma is more common, frequently affecting individuals of Asian descent, females, and those over 40 years old.
