Visual field defect

Visual field defect refers to the impairment of the visual field. The visual field is the spatial range that can be seen when the eyeball is still and gazing at a fixed point, which is the vision outside the fovea. Visual field defect manifests as incomplete vision when looking at things, as if there is a shadow blocking the line of sight, and sometimes a completely dark shadow may appear in a certain corner, making it impossible to see anything. Visual field defects can be seen in various diseases such as glaucoma, ischemic optic neuropathy, retinal detachment, retinitis pigmentosa, and intracranial lesions.
