Congenital microphthalmia

Congenital microphthalmia, also known as congenital microphthalmos, is a congenital developmental anomaly of the eyeball characterized by a significant reduction in eyeball volume. It can affect one or both eyes, with unilateral involvement being more common. This condition often co-occurs with, but is not causally related to, the following conditions (medically referred to as "complications"): significant delay in eyeball development, microcornea, shallow anterior chamber, narrow anterior chamber angle, aphakia, scleral thickening, and intraorbital cysts.
