Dental caries

Dental caries, also known as tooth decay or cavities, is primarily caused by bacteria. Under the influence of multiple factors, it leads to chronic and progressive destruction of tooth hard tissues. It can occur in people of any age after the eruption of primary teeth, but is more common in children. It mainly manifests as chalky white or dark brown patches on the tooth surface, some forming cavities, and pain upon probing or temperature stimulation.
