A sublingual cyst is a cyst formed by the obstruction of the sublingual gland or submandibular gland duct, or by the extravasation of secretions due to duct rupture. The cyst is usually located on one side of the floor of the mouth under the tongue, with a thin wall, a purplish-blue color, and a fluctuating sensation upon palpation.
