Dentin hypersensitivity

Dentin is the yellowish tissue that forms the bulk of the tooth, located between the enamel and the pulp. Dentin hypersensitivity, commonly known as sensitive teeth, refers to the transient, sharp pain or discomfort that occurs when teeth are exposed to external stimuli such as cold, heat, sweet, sour, or mechanical forces, due to exposed dentin. This condition is most prevalent in individuals aged 50-59 years. The number of affected women is significantly higher than men, and the severity is also greater in women. The main symptom is a brief and sharp pain or discomfort after the tooth is stimulated.
