A jaw cyst is a fluid-filled cystic mass that develops within the jawbone, gradually enlarging and causing expansion and destruction of the jawbone.
This condition is common in adolescents.
Early stages are often asymptomatic. Larger cysts may feel like a ping-pong ball upon palpation and can be accompanied by tooth defects and malocclusion (uneven bite). Bone damage and facial deformities may also occur.
