Detailed description
Pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland is the most common tumor occurring in the parotid gland. It is called a pleomorphic adenoma because, under the microscope, it is composed of parotid tissue, myxoid tissue, and cartilaginous tissue, with varying proportions and complex morphology.
This disease is common in young and middle-aged adults, with a slightly higher incidence in females than males.
The main symptom is a protrusion in front of or below the earlobe, which grows relatively slowly and is usually asymptomatic.
