Cancer of the floor of the mouth

The floor of the mouth is a U-shaped area located between the mandibles, extending posteriorly to the palatoglossal arch, medially to the ventral surface of the tongue, and laterally and anteriorly to the inner surface of the mandible. Floor of mouth cancer, fully known as squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth, refers to cancer originating from the mucosa of the floor of the mouth. Common symptoms of floor of mouth cancer include ulcers, pain, and masses.
