Sinusitis is an inflammatory disease of the sinus mucosa and is one of the common diseases in rhinology. It can be divided into acute sinusitis and chronic sinusitis. Acute sinusitis is mainly characterized by sudden onset of nasal congestion, runny nose, decreased sense of smell, headache, and fever. Chronic sinusitis is mainly characterized by recurrent nasal congestion, runny nose, decreased sense of smell, foul odor in the nose, epistaxis, and headache.
This disease has a high incidence and can affect anyone, especially children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened systemic immunity.
