Otomycosis is a subacute or chronic lesion of the external auditory canal caused by fungal invasion or the proliferation of pathogenic fungi in the external auditory canal under suitable conditions. Bacterial infections may occasionally occur concurrently.
Common symptoms of this disease include discomfort, distending pain or intense itching in the external auditory canal, a sensation of obstruction in the external auditory canal, and hearing impairment.
