Bullous myringitis

Bullous myringitis, also known as hemorrhagic bullous myringitis, is a primary inflammation of the tympanic membrane that may be caused by viral infection. Pathologically, it is characterized by the formation of bullae due to localized fluid accumulation beneath the epidermal layer of the tympanic membrane, hence the name bullous myringitis. This condition commonly affects children and adults under 30 years of age. Common symptoms include ear pain, otorrhea, hearing loss, tinnitus, and aural fullness.
