Laryngeal edema

Laryngeal edema refers to the swelling or congestive edema of the laryngeal mucosa caused by various factors. This condition is common in individuals with allergic constitutions and those with recurrent pharyngeal and laryngeal infections. The main symptoms include throat pain, a sensation of a lump in the throat, and hoarseness within minutes or hours. In severe cases, patients may experience dyspnea and shortness of breath.
