Detailed description
A sinus mucocele is a type of sinus cyst that forms when the opening of a mucous or serous gland in the sinus mucosa becomes blocked, leading to the accumulation and expansion of glandular secretions.
These cysts are typically small, grow very slowly, and may rupture spontaneously once they reach a certain size, allowing the fluid to drain out through the sinus ostium. They are usually asymptomatic and are often discovered incidentally during a sinus examination.
