Syphilis

Syphilis is a chronic, systemic sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with Treponema pallidum. It is primarily transmitted through sexual contact, mother-to-child transmission, and blood transmission. This disease is highly harmful, and lesions can affect almost all tissues and organs of the human body. Syphilis during pregnancy can also lead to premature birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal syphilis. In recent years, the incidence of syphilis has rapidly increased in China, making it the most reported sexually transmitted disease.
