Actinic keratosis

Actinic keratosis is a precancerous lesion caused by long-term sun exposure damaging the superficial layer of the skin, leading to skin proliferation. Skin lesions are more common in sun-exposed areas such as the face, lower lip, back of the hands, forearms, neck, and bald areas of the scalp. It is more common in Caucasians and frequently affects middle-aged and older men, presenting as excessive and abnormal skin changes.
