Pityriasis rosea

Pityriasis rosea is a common acute inflammatory skin disease characterized by rose-colored macules and papules covered with bran-like scales. It commonly occurs on the trunk and proximal ends of the limbs. It is a self-limiting disease that usually resolves spontaneously within 4 to 8 weeks. This disease is not contagious and cannot be transmitted to others through physical contact. Most patients do not develop scars after healing.
