Common warts

Verruca vulgaris, commonly known as "common wart" or "wart," is a benign skin growth caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Verruca vulgaris presents as hard papules with a rough surface upon touch. It can occur on any part of the body, but is most common on the hands. This condition often recurs, and some individuals may experience spontaneous regression without treatment. Based on the location and clinical manifestations, verruca vulgaris can be classified into: Plantar warts: Occur on the soles of the feet. Periungual warts: Occur around the edges of fingernails or toenails. Subungual warts: Occur under the fingernails or toenails. Filiform warts: Mostly occur on the neck, forehead, and eyelids. Digitate warts: Primarily occur on the scalp and between the toes.
