Lymphogranuloma venereum

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), also known as the fourth venereal disease, is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Chlamydia. Its main clinical manifestations include transient vesicular lesions in the genital area and local lymphadenopathy. If left untreated, late-stage complications can include elephantiasis and rectal stricture, leading to significant tissue destruction.
