Erythrasma is a localized superficial skin infection caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum, commonly occurring in intertriginous areas.
In China, erythrasma is more prevalent in southern regions, with a higher incidence in males than females.
The main symptoms include macerated scaly patches between the toes, or red to brownish patches or thin plaques in intertriginous areas. It may be asymptomatic or accompanied by mild itching.
