Neurocutaneous syndrome

Neurocutaneous syndromes are diseases caused by abnormal development of organs originating from ectodermal tissues. They are characterized by multi-system and multi-organ involvement, affecting the nervous system, skin, and eyes, and can also involve mesodermal and endodermal organs such as the heart, lungs, bones, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. More common examples include neurofibromatosis, encephalofacial angiomatosis, and tuberous sclerosis.
