Granuloma inguinale

Granuloma inguinale is a chronic, granulomatous, and locally destructive sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with *Klebsiella granulomatis*. This disease is characterized by painless subcutaneous nodules with ulceration, primarily transmitted through sexual contact. 90% of cases occur in the genital area, and 10% occur in the groin and anus. The global prevalence of granuloma inguinale is decreasing year by year. It is rare in China, with only sporadic reports, and is mostly seen in sexually active individuals aged 20-40, primarily transmitted through sexual activity.
