Impetigo, also known as "infectious impetigo" or commonly "yellow sore," is an acute purulent skin disease caused by Staphylococcus aureus and/or beta-hemolytic streptococci. It is characterized by the formation of papules, vesicles, and pustules, which easily rupture and erode, forming honey-colored crusts.
This disease is highly contagious and can spread in nurseries, kindergartens, and primary and secondary schools.
