Eating disorders

Eating disorders primarily refer to a group of syndromes characterized by abnormal eating behaviors and psychological disturbances, accompanied by significant weight changes and/or physiological dysfunction. Adolescents and young adults are high-risk groups for eating disorders, and women are more susceptible than men. Potential symptoms include binge eating, post-meal vomiting, laxative abuse, excessive exercise, rumination (repeated regurgitation of food and re-chewing of partially digested food), and malnutrition.
