Detailed description
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by recurrent and irresistible urges to eat and binge eating behaviors. Patients, driven by a fear of gaining weight, often resort to extreme measures to counteract the effects of binge eating, such as self-induced vomiting, laxative abuse, and excessive dieting.
International reports indicate that the prevalence of bulimia nervosa is approximately 1% among women aged 16-40, with female patients outnumbering males by more than 10 times.
