Erythromelalgia is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system characterized by paroxysmal vasodilation, increased skin temperature, erythema, and burning pain in the distal extremities. It is a peripheral vasomotor dysfunction.
The pain is most commonly seen in both feet. It is more common in young and middle-aged adults aged 20-40 years, with a higher incidence in females than males.
