Progressive bulbar palsy

Progressive bulbar palsy is a degenerative disease affecting the motor nuclei of the cranial nerves in the medulla oblongata and pons, and is a type of motor neuron disease. It typically manifests after middle age, with a relatively rapid progression. Symptoms include weakness and atrophy of the jaw, facial, tongue, and pharyngeal muscles, leading to dysarthria, dysphagia, and choking on liquids.
