Cerebral schistosomiasis

Cerebral schistosomiasis refers to a disease in which schistosome eggs are carried to the cranium through blood circulation, deposited in brain tissue, and cause brain damage, leading to clinical symptoms such as fever, vomiting, visual impairment, and epileptic seizures. This disease is common in young and middle-aged adults, with a higher incidence in males. The disease has a regional distribution, with the Yangtze River Delta region, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the plateau areas of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces being the main endemic areas.
