Ocular ischemic syndrome is a series of cerebral and ocular symptoms caused by insufficient blood supply to the brain and eyes due to carotid artery occlusion or stenosis. It commonly affects men over 50 years old and can manifest as transient monocular blindness (i.e., temporary vision loss), decreased vision, and eye pain.
