Gastric ulcer is a type of peptic ulcer, referring to an ulcer that occurs in the inner lining of the stomach. The inner lining of the stomach has a protective gastric mucosa. When the gastric mucosa is damaged for some reason, ulcers are prone to occur at that site. Gastric ulcer mainly manifests as abdominal pain, which becomes more pronounced after meals.
