Diarrhea

Diarrhea, commonly known as "loose stools," refers to a condition where bowel movements occur significantly more frequently than usual, with thin, watery stools, increased water content, and a daily stool volume exceeding 200g, or containing undigested food, pus, blood, or mucus. Based on the duration of the illness, diarrhea can be classified into acute diarrhea and chronic diarrhea. Acute diarrhea: Characterized by a sudden onset and a duration of 2 to 3 weeks. It is mostly caused by infections. Chronic diarrhea: Refers to diarrhea that lasts for more than two months or recurrent diarrhea with remission periods of 2 to 4 weeks. The causes are complex and can be divided into infectious and non-infectious factors.
