Detailed description
Autoimmune liver disease is a group of hepatobiliary disorders caused by abnormal autoimmunity in the body.
This disease includes autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and overlap syndromes where two of these conditions coexist. Additionally, IgG4-related hepatobiliary disease is also classified under this category.
Autoimmune hepatitis can occur at any age, but most patients are over 40 years old. Women are more susceptible to the disease, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1:4.
