Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are a group of chronic, recurrent gastrointestinal symptoms without organic lesions. They mainly include functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, and functional constipation, with the former two being more common. The prevalence in the population is 10% to 20%, with abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation as the main symptoms.
