Pancreatic calculi

Pancreatic calculi, also known as pancreatolithiasis, are caused by the precipitation of calcium carbonate or protein within the pancreatic ducts due to various reasons, leading to the formation of protein plugs or mineralization into stones. This can result in a series of clinical symptoms such as high pressure within the pancreatic ducts, abdominal pain, or pancreatic exocrine and endocrine dysfunction. This condition is more common in males than females, and the main symptoms include abdominal pain, indigestion, and diarrhea.
