Bloating

Bloating refers to the accumulation of gas in the abdomen, which can be caused by gastrointestinal diseases, abdominal surgery, excessive intake of certain foods, or stress. It is often accompanied by belching, discomfort, and excessive flatulence. Bloating indicates slowed intestinal peristalsis, which affects the passage of gas, or is caused by swallowing too much air or consuming gas-producing foods.
