Stress ulcer

Stress ulcers refer to mucosal erosions, ulcers, and other lesions in the gastrointestinal tract that occur in patients during critical conditions such as severe trauma, major surgery, critical illness, severe mental illness, or under stimulation from excessive alcohol consumption or accidental drug ingestion. They are more common in men over 60 years old. Clinical symptoms mainly include epigastric pain or acid reflux (some patients may have inconspicuous symptoms). In severe cases, gastrointestinal bleeding or even perforation may occur.
