Hepatic encephalopathy

Hepatic encephalopathy is a syndrome of central nervous system dysfunction caused by severe acute or chronic liver disease, characterized by metabolic disturbances and altered consciousness or coma as the main clinical manifestations. It is more common in people over middle age. The main manifestations include personality changes, intellectual decline, and even coma.
