Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism, also known as underactive thyroid, is a systemic hypometabolic syndrome caused by insufficient production of thyroid hormones or reduced action of thyroid hormones due to various reasons. Hypothyroidism is more common in women (the prevalence in women is about 10 times that in men), people over 60 years old, and those with a family history or a history of autoimmune diseases.
