Hypoglycemia is a clinical syndrome caused by various etiologies, characterized by a decrease in plasma (or serum) glucose levels, generally ≤ 2.8 mmol/L, sufficient to cause corresponding symptoms and signs, which then subside when plasma glucose concentration rises. It is common in diabetic patients and can be asymptomatic or accompanied by discomforts such as palpitations, sweating, fatigue, and pallor.
