Adrenocortical insufficiency

Adrenocortical insufficiency is a condition caused by the destruction or dysfunction of the adrenal cortex due to various reasons, leading to insufficient secretion of cortisol, aldosterone, and androgens. This results in symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, hypotension, and decreased libido. Based on the etiology, it can be divided into two types: primary and secondary. Primary adrenocortical insufficiency is also known as Addison's disease.
