Graves' ophthalmopathy

Graves' disease, also known as diffuse toxic goiter, is a clinical syndrome caused by an immune system disorder that leads to excessive secretion of thyroid hormones. It is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism. One of the main symptoms of Graves' disease is ophthalmopathy, primarily characterized by exophthalmos. When ophthalmopathy becomes severe, it can lead to restricted eye movement and decreased vision, a condition known as Graves' ophthalmopathy.
