Vasculitis

Vasculitis refers to an inflammatory reaction of blood vessels, primarily characterized by inflammation and necrosis of the vessels, and clinically manifested by ischemia in tissues supplied by the affected vessels. Some forms of vasculitis are short-term and self-limiting, resolving spontaneously even without treatment. Others present as chronic inflammatory reactions, requiring medication to control inflammation and prevent acute exacerbations.
